some highs and lows of the week
1. august 6th, john hughes died :( this was really sad because my favorite 80s movie are written or directed by john hughes. he was a huge inspiration and an icon of the 80s. he will be missed.

2. also august 6th, andy warhols 81st birthday! another icon of the 80s.
3. pretty sure this was august 6th too. went shopping and stopped by forever 21. their cirque collection was gorgeous but i was immeadiately drawn to their graphic tees. there was another one i wanted that said "la belle et le beau" in this bold superhero font.

4. august 4th: warped tour! it was my second year and ive been waiting months for this concert. this year was really great. we got to go backstage and then we volunteered to help with catering so we got to serve the bands and crew! probably one of the best days of my life.

busy day yesterday. took school pictures and then spent a few hours sitting in haleys backyard with haley and abby on a blanket. her puppy is adorable! made pizza with kelsey and we hung around the mall. i was going to help haley babysit today but today is my lazy day. now im watching gran torino and eating a burger. my parents have been crazy healthy lately so ive missed "real" beef burgers.

august wish list

yes, yes, i know its not august yet but i have 'enrollment day' in a few days where i get my class schedule and pay fees for school so it got me excited for august (and fall) to come.

1. Standard Striped Pullover Hood. I love hoodies with all of my heart and I love guys hoodies even more. Also I've always liked pullover hoodies but I dont have any :/

2. Kimchi Blue Floral Bodysuit. I've never been a fan of bodysuits because in my opinion, they're like one-piece bathing suits (which I'm not a fan of) but at the same time, I've always imagined wearing them with skinny jeans and a blazer. I think this one is really cute with the floral print.

3. My Goodness My Guinness Tee. Shirts with clever sayings on them are awesome.

4. BDG Collegiate Pullover. Again, I've always wanted a pullover.

5. DIY Eco Speakers by Merkury. I fo sho need some new speakers. Mine are some tacky white ones that look really awkward haha. Also eco is good!

6. Minnetonka Beaded Moccasin. My favorite shoes are moccasins but sadly, they might be falling apart sometime soon. I have turquoise ones right now but black would be nice and the beading is great!

oh the heat

i hate kansas summers so very very much. im not fond of wearing shorts either but i have to or i die from the heat haha. once in awhile we have a nice day though, like today, it was 76 degrees.

the pictures are from last night. my friend, kelsey, and i walked down to 7-11 and bought some dr. pepper and dropped mentos in them. it was really cool.

haley got a new puppy. i think im in love with her (the puppy not haley haha)

since ive been back....

been having some fun lately:
1.one of my friends, anastasia, is back from rhode island and california! shes been there since june 3 so i have missed her verrrrrrrry much.
2. i went to the midnight premiere with my friend, haley. and yes, we dressed up. then i saw it again with anastasia.
3. ive been taking care of my cousins dog for a week. hes adorable. hes a black lab named truman and i love him dearly. haha

today i dont know what to do with myself :/ i was going to go to lunch with ana and haley but then i remembered that im broke hah so that put a damper on the day. ive been watching tv for a few hours. will probably take truman on a walk later

went to borders a few days ago and i bought a book called hot shots. its a book of tips and tricks for taking better pictures and it was written by kevin meredith. before i read this book, i had never heard of this guy but he takes AMAZING pictures. I couldnt get my favorites from his Flickr but you should check them out! on the right hand column, there should be an album that says my favs. thats a good one to check out.

not much else to say. i leave for new york tomorrow! im not taking my laptop though so there wont be any picture posts for a week.

wish list time!

i wish i could buy everything from urban outfitters. i love it that much. i probably have a new wish list every few months. so heres my summer wish list.

1. Tikirani Stripe Pinafore Dress. i love the combination of ruffles and buttons. its just a cute laid-back summer dress. it reminds me of old-time carnivals
2. American Kitchen Miniatures from Re-ment. laugh all you want but im a sucker for toys. i am such a little kid. and the fact thats its japanese just makes it cuter!
3. Silence & Noise Silk Print T-Shirt Dress. i just adore the 80s and this t-shirt dress looks like something from the 80s. also ive always wanted a tshirt dress.
4. Kimchi Blue Rosebud Dress. floral dresses are my favorite and i love when the floral has a background of black. and with the strapless, i feel like i could dress it up or down.
5. Alphabet Keychains by Kidrobot. again, im a sucker for cute little things and these keychains are adorable! i can't decide which letter from the alphabet i want. maybe m for monster or d for donut.
6. Mustache Keychain. i really want some things to add to my keyring and this mustache is just so cool.
7. Ecote Smocked Tube Dress. I absolutely love the pattern. blue and white is just so chic together!


got my blood taken today cause the doctors are worried about my blood sugar. it sucked majorly because i had to fast for 12 hours before. i was famished when i woke up.

lighting up the sky

went to a family birthday party yesterday for my mum. then over to kelseys for a barbecue and then we watched the fireworks! i love fireworks. i like the loud ones the best.

my parents are going to see no doubt and paramore in concert tomorrow. im jealous but its my mum's birthday and mothers day gift so oh well. haleys getting back from colorado tomorrow so she'll probably come over.

i just love when i can't remember what day it is

my outfit from yesterday, brownies i made for my mum's birthday and my adorable cousin hannah.

the weather here is weird. it rained early this morning but instead of being cool and breezy, its sticky.

went shopping yesterday and found this ca-ute skirt. its from charlotte ronson's line for jcpenny. normally, i hate jcpenny's stuff but charlotte ronson has a great collection. im going to take it to new york but ill probably wear it before i leave.
